OddsOnFPL – Gameweek 13 Preview #FPL

Hi all, this is a weekly blog that we post which we’ve been doing since game week 1. The team is one where the players are chosen from game week one, and it is not a side of the highest performing players, but of players, we have chosen from our original team week on week making moves based on bookie’s odds. Last week returned a lovely score of 65 even though the expectancy was 54. This week more of the same, please. Unfortunately, we don’t have Kane, so Alli is our Captain this week as he’s got the highest expected points return. With David Luiz seemingly out of the picture in the Premier League, falling behind Christiansen a move was required, the fact Chelsea come up against Liverpool also made the move seem far more enticing. While United and City are both incredibly likely to keep a clean sheet Otamendi gives us coverage for City, and Valencia is really only the nailed on starter for United but is expensive at 6.7m.

With United’s fixtures that made Valencia less of an attractive option, and with Jones injured, Bailly unfit, Smalling being Smalling and Ashley Young being a midfielder it really made the decision to ignore United defenders this week, which are high rotation risks. Outside of the Manchester clubs, the options were Spurs and Southampton, and with a fit Lloris back Spurs should keep more clean sheets than Southampton. With Spurs having West Brom, Watford, Stoke, Leicester, Brighton coming up over the next 5 game weeks it’s a fantastic decision to bring in a Spurs defender, just which one to choose? The full-backs are all rotation risks, and Sanchez and Vertongen are both nailed on, only with Dier as a rotational option. With Sanchez being 0.1m cheaper this week we have brought in the Colombian in replacement of David Luiz. With 5.02 expected points it brings up the points expectancy massively for us.

This week the points expectancy is 55.5.

3.53 + 4.27 + 5.13 + 5.02 + 4.59 + 11.42 + 4.31 + 4.42 + 4.04 + 3.97 + 4.8
