Last weeks points total was a huge 74 despite the points expectancy to be 55. This week we’re hoping for more of the same. We had to take another -4 hit due to Kanes injury news and we chose to bring in Gabriel Jesus and Wilfried Zaha for Andy King. Alexandre Lacazette is the player most likely to score the highest amount of points. That makes him this weeks captain and could prove to be a huge differential. This week the points expectancy is 57.
Rob Elliot – Expected Points 3.36
Burnley have been quite impressive this season as have Newcastle. Hopefully, it’ll be a tight 0-0 draw so both Elliot and Ward get a clean sheet. It’s so close that the bookies have given them both a close chance of a clean sheet. Newcastle have a 34.01% chance which can be seen here
David Luiz – Expected Points 4.34
Clean sheets haven’t been frequent for Chelsea this year. David Luiz hasn’t scored a ridiculous free kick yet this season. Maybe this week will be the week! We’d be happy with just a clean sheet though.
Nacho Monreal – Expected Points 4.83
Not all heroes wear capes. Monreal has returned us 30 points since we brought him into our wildcard team in gameweek 6. Arsenal play Swansea at home this week which is another great chance of a clean sheet.
Nicolas Otamendi – Expected Points 4.86
Another hero that was also brought into our wildcard team. Returning 27 points and scoring in his most recent fixture. Manchester City haven’t been conceding much this season so let’s hope it stays that way this weekend.
Stephen Ward – Expected Points 3.83
A tough test for Burnley last week when they played City and it would have been a miracle had they kept a clean sheet. This week the odds are far more likely as they have a 33.73% chance to keep a clean sheet against Newcastle, compared to a 4.72% chance against City.
Wilfried Zaha – Expected Points 4.57
Our replacement for 1 pointer Andy King. Zaha was rested midweek in the cup game and Crystal Palace take on a West Ham side who have conceded a lot of goals so far this season.
Dele Alli – Expected Points 3.87
Alli is back! He scored last weekend against Liverpool and also scored midweek. After being on a dry spell for a couple of gameweeks things were looking grim for Alli owners. The only bad thing is, Spurs travel to Old Trafford this weekend and they haven’t scored there in the last 3 head to head fixtures.
Eden Hazard – Expected Points 5.07
Just the one assist for Hazard last weekend despite Chelsea scoring 4 goals. Hazard has looked very threatening when he has played. Rested midweek against Everton so he’ll be fully fit at the weekend.
Raheem Sterling – Expected Points 5.21
WILL HE EVEN PLAY? A disaster scenario last weekend after captaining Sterling. Sterling then started the cup game and played 120 minutes. It’s expected Aguero be rested due to playing in the league and also 120 minutes in the cup. Let’s hope Pep keeps to that logic and Sterling starts
Alexandre Lacazette(C) – Expected Points 11.32
Our captain this week! The highest expected points scorer in our team this week. Lacazette scored against Everton last week and was then inevitable subbed off. Wenger as usually played a second string team in the cup so all the big guns will be fit for the home game against Swansea. We should start compiling odds on when Lacazette gets subbed off in games! My guess this week is the 72nd minute
Gabriel Jesus – Expected Points 5.54
Our new replacement for Harry Kane and EVERYBODY is expecting him to start instead of Aguero. Jesus was subbed off after 85 minutes midweek instead of Aguero. Lets hope we won the Pep lottery this week.
