Last week was a bad week with Harry Kane blanking. A total of 48 with an expectancy of 60. Let’s hope this week so many big hitters don’t blank. It’s a triple up on Manchester City again this week. This weeks expected points is 58
Fernandez – Alonso – Jones
Sterling – Sane – Hazard – Fabregas – Ritchie
Lukaku(C) – Lacazette
Ederson – Expected points 4.54
The cheapest way into the City defence and a guaranteed starter. Ederson has a 63.53% chance of keeping a clean.
Federico Fernandez – Expected points 3.68
Naughton did the business last week in the Wildcard XI as he kept a clean sheet, but this week I went with Fernandez as he’s 0.1M cheaper.
Phil Jones – Expected points 4.93
Eric Bailly not being marked as injured on the FPL website was a big kick in the face for those who had him. That’s two weeks in a row United have kept a clean sheet and Bailly didn’t feature. So this week I opted for Phil Jones, so Eric Bailly will probably replace him.
Marcos Alonso – Expected points 5.69
Alonso is becoming increasingly frustrating to own. Especially when he costs so much. But he’s one of those players that can still score in every game despite playing in defence and nobody wants to miss his big haul.
Raheem Sterling – Expected points 6.04
Raheem the dream managed to score and get two assists last week and looks to be in excellent form so far this season so he’s in this weeks Wildcard XI for the second time in a row.
Leroy Sane – Expected points 5.12
A goal and an assist last week for Sane who is also in an excellent run of form. It’s going to be close come the end of the season between who gets higher returns Sterling or Sane
Eden Hazard – Expected points 5.54
After doing nothing against Crystal Palace I still wanted Hazard in the team this week. He’ll come good eventually… right? Or else he could end up like Sanchez so far this season.
Matt Ritchie – Expected points 4.24
I usually go for Atsu if I’m looking at a Newcastle midfielder but that’s just because he’s cheaper. Although Atsu got an assist last week, Ritchie is on most set pieces and looks to be the better asset.
Cesc Fabregas – Expected points 3.13
I opted for Fabregas this week as I wanted to double up on Chelsea. Morata is not guaranteed to be fit and I was uncertain who would start between Pedro/Willian so I went with the safest option between these.
Romelu Lukaku(C) – Expected Points 10.88
Lukaku rarely scores against the big teams last season was his best record against them so nobody should be surprised that he blanked against Liverpool. However, he does love goals against poor opposition and that’s why he was number one on the list this week.
Alexandre Lacazette – Expected Points 4.54
This was a tough call to be honest. Morata/Aguero are possible doubts which then could affect Jesus’ play time. I didn’t fancy Kane against Liverpool especially in Wembley so I figured Everton can’t defend and Lacazette will likely cause Everton problems. The only bad thing is he’s unlikely to play past 70 minutes.
