OddsOnFPL – Gameweek 8 Review #FPL

I’m not sure what’s more surprising this week. Crystal Palace scoring a goal or Harry Kane blanking. Going by the odds it was more likely for Kane to score, and it just shows you how variance can work in betting, and in FPL. With Lukaku and Kane holding the captaincy for 56% of teams, it was generally a bad week for the majority of FPL managers. A shocking total of just 20 points, with a 4 point hit. Not a clean sheet, assist or goal in sight. Dreadful.

Jordan Pickford – 2 points

Another week of Everton conceding ensures that Jordan Pickford gets just the two points. They take on Arsenal next week in the battle of who can be less shit. Who wins? Not the viewers.

Stephen Ward – 2 points

Just the two points for Wardy this week. No surprises due to the Irish lads probably having a few pints after getting to the playoffs for the World Cup.

Nicolas Otamendi – 1 point

A fantastic result if you owned any Manchester City attacker, but a bad result for The Odds On FPL team just having Otamendi.

Nacho Monreal – 1 point

It’s been awhile since the #WengerOut Brigade were chanting, and they were in full force this week. A loss to Watford despite going 0-1 up will be a massive disappointment, especially when Wenger saw that Liverpool/Chelsea/Manchester United all dropped points. A poor defensive display from Arsenal.

Eric Bailly – 0 point

An injury that wasn’t talked about, or even mentioned for Eric Bailly meant that he did not play. Mbemba not in the squad for Newcastle, RLC injured and Hemed suspended means it was just the 10 players this week. Pity.

Andy King – 1 point

The hero came on in the 91st minute to get that 1 point cameo. Unfortunately, it now looks like Iborra has taken his place in the starting line up. With Shaky being relinquished of his role as manager, who knows what is next for King.

Dele Alli – 3 points

A blank for Dele this week which is becoming quite frustrating. It was Eriksen who got on the scoresheet to secure the points for Spurs. Which ended up being Spurs’ first win in the league this season at Wembley. Dele Alli has been horribly out of form this season, it seems the odds haven’t taken this into account just yet.

Eden Hazard – 2 points

Well, the right choice was made in transferring out Sanchez for Hazard, but an absolute woeful score from the Belgium winger. With Chelsea’s fixtures improving, and Hazard being the focal point of their attack better weeks will come. Just not in GW8. Thanks, Eden.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – 2 points

The price tag appears to be effecting Gylfi as he’s nowhere near as effective compared to his Swansea days. The midfielder has been taking free kicks over Leighton Baines but needs to start scoring them, or doing anything. Please.

Alexandre Lacazette 2 points

Another week where Lacazette has failed to play 90 minutes. The Frenchman failed to score as Arsenal once again floundered.

Harry Kane(C) – 4 points

It felt like August again for Harry Kane. Kane had multiple chances throughout the game and just couldn’t find the back of the net. This is the second time this season Harry Kane has had a 70% or higher of scoring a goal and failed to score. The previous game was against Swansea, where many people also captained him and were let down. Tough fixtures for Spurs up next.
